The Little Chap Who Follows Me!

A careful man I want to be;
A little fellow follows me.

I do not dare to go astray
For fear he'll go the self same way.

I cannot once escape his eyes,
Whatever he sees me do, he tries.

Like me he says he's going to be;
The little chap who follows me.

He thinks that I'm so very fine,
Believes in every word of mine.

The base in me he must not see;
The little chap who follows me.

I must remember as I go
Through summer's sun and winter's snow,
I'm building for the years to be;
The little chap who follows me.

Have a Happy New Year

May this New Year, all your dreams turn into reality and all your efforts into achievements... May each day of the coming year be vibrant. Have a vivacious 2010 ahead.

1. Let us worry less and relax more.
2. Let’s take better care of our body, not to meet someone else's standards of weight or shape, but strictly in order for us to feel our best.
3. Let’s plant a tree for your great-grandchildren. While literally planting a tree is always a good project, I mean this suggestion symbolically. Let’s consider, in everything we do, how our decisions and actions will impact the legacy we leave for future generations. How can we leave our family, the political system, the environment, the whole world, better than we found it?

Have a happy and safe New Year, and enjoy a wonderful 2010.

We visited Atlanta Swaminarayan Mandir today

This is a place of paramount peace. It is also a center vibrant with social, cultural, and spiritual activities.

The Mandir was inaugurated in August of 2007 after only 17 months of construction time utilizing 1.3 million volunteer hours. The Mandir is comprised of 3 types of stone - Turkish Limestone, Italian marble, and Indian pink sandstone.
More than 34,000 individual pieces were carved by hand in India, shipped to the USA and assembled in Lilburn like a giant 3-D puzzle

Rosa Parks, American Civil Rights Pioneer

"When he saw me still sitting, he asked if I was going to stand up, and I said, ‘No, I’m not. ‘And he said, Well, if you don’t stand up, I am going to have to call the police and have you arrested. ‘I said, ‘You do that."
~Rosa Parks

New Beginnings

Wishing our friendship continues to grow in the days to come:
Ring out the old, ring in the new.
Ring out the false, ring in the true.

Then sing, young hearts that are full of cheer,
With never a thought of sorrow;

The old goes out, but the glad young year
Comes merrily in tomorrow.

We visited Georgia Institute of Technology Atlanta GA

Happy to know standards and principles that they value and live by' These are:

To foster a collegiate, comradeship atmosphere where everybody's opinion is respected, and a free exchange of ideas, learning from each other, and mutual help are encouraged;
To foster a creative atmosphere where non-mainstream and highly original approach to research is sought after, and bold and independent thinking is emphasized;

To foster an atmosphere of academic rigor where the high quality research is only acceptable

To have joy one must share it - Happiness was born a twin: Lord Byron

Good looks depend on one’s sense of humour. Joyfulness keeps the heart and face young. A good laugh makes us better friends with ourselves and everybody around us. A light heart lives long. There is little success where there is little laughter. Hobbies provide good balance between work and play for those who are intensely bent upon success toward their goal. Those who face life with a feeling of security are much happier than those who face it with a feeling of insecurity.

Thought For The Day

Happiness consists in activity; it’s a running stream, not a stagnant pool: Briggs

If you want to be happy,
Begin where you are,
Don’t wait for some rapture
That’s future and far.

Begin to be joyous, begin to be glad
And soon you’ll forget
That you ever were sad.

Happiness is a perfume you cannot pour on others without getting a few drops on yourself. Happiness consists in activity; it’s a running stream, not a stagnant pool: Briggs

Fight on my dear self, fight on.
Life is a struggle; do not shirk struggle,
Enjoy the sweetness of life but do not stop,
Struggle, fight on my dear self.
Do not entertain fear for fear is death,
The world will frighten you,
But fight on, dear self, fight on
- Tolstoy

I love you for that part of me you bring out...

I love you not only for what you are,
but for what I am when I am with you.

I love you not only for what you have made of yourself,
but for what you are making of me.

I love you for that part of me you bring out.

- Elizabeth Barrett Browning

Freedom - Robert Frost

Freedom lies in being bold. He who is brave is free. The secret of happiness is freedom. Man is free at the moment he wishes to be.

The average man does not want to be free. He simply wants to be safe. Freedom is something people take, and people are as free as they want to be. Eternal vigilance is the price of liberty.
