Success is knowing you are running your life; it isn’t running you.

Success is having time for work and play.
Success is knowing you controlled the wise use of your resources.
Success is knowing you have done your best.
Success is knowing your future expenditure will be paid for by future income.
Success is knowing failure is simply an event that is part of your successes.
Success is taking personal responsibility for your victories and your failures and not being overwhelmed by either.

Where the mind is without fear....

Where the mind is without fear and the head is held high;
Where knowledge is free;

Where the world has not been broken up into fragments by narrow domestic walls;
Where words come out from the depth of truth;

Where tireless striving stretches its arms towards perfection;
Where clear stream of reason has not lost its way into the dreary desert sand of dead habit;
Where the mind is led forward by thee into ever-lasting thought and action...
Into that heaven of freedom, my Father, let my country awake.

Exercise

Exercise’ means nothing more than moving our body.
Brisk walking is a great form of exercise.
Physical activity at work contributes to lowering the risk of colon cancer.

Take a flight of stairs instead of elevator. Take the family for a walk two or three evenings a week, instead of turning on the TV. Mow your own lawn. Rake your own leaves. Push your own snow blower. Exercise your imagination.

There are thousands of things you can do to increase physical activity and reduce your risk of cancer and other chronic diseases. Add more of the ‘exercise of daily living’ to your life.

Even simple walks near our residence, playing with our children in a park, etc is exercise and will be beneficial.

We don’t have to join a club to participate in exercise that will reduce our risk of chronic disease. Even leisure-time walking has been shown to reduce inflammation, and adding dietary supplementation provides anti-inflammatory benefits.

Thought For The Day

All truly wise thoughts have been thought already, thousands of times; but to make them truly ours, we must think them over again honestly, till they take firm root in our personal experience.

I Live ....

I live for those who love me;
For those who know me true;
For the cause that lacks assistance,
For the wrong that needs resistance,
For the future in the distance,
And the good that I can do.

Autumn

I like spring, but it is too young.
I like summer, but it is too proud.
So I like best of all autumn, because its leaves are a little yellow, its tone mellower, its colors richer, and it is tinged a little with sorrow.

Its golden richness speaks not of innocence of spring, nor of the power of summer, but of the mellowness and kindly wisdom of approaching age. It knows the limitations of life and is content: ~Lin Yutang

My Life Belongs to Whole Community

I am of the opinion that my life belongs to the whole community, and as long as I live, it is my privilege to do for it whatsoever I can. I rejoice in life for its own sake. Life is no brief candle to me, but a sort of torch which I have got hold of, and I want to make it burn as brightly as possible before handing it on to future generations: George Bernard Shaw

Beautiful Night

Oh! Sweet beautiful is night
When the silver moon is high,
And countless stars, like clustering gems,
Hang sparkling in the sky,
While the balmy breath of summer breeze comes
Whispering down the glen and pond a voice heard -
Oh! Night is lovely then.

Do not close your mind to new possibilities, new ideas and new hobbies: Arina

We are not usually born knowing exactly what would we like to do. Like tiny puzzle pieces, we put together our interests, hobbies, bits of knowledge, different talents and skills to get the whole picture and discover our true passion. After this the next ultimate challenge is to figure out how to make money by doing what you love to do.Every time we try something new, we get a better understanding of our likes, abilities, skills and character.

Meaningful Human Connections Keep People Happy!

“More than any other human problem,
Loneliness, the absence of meaningful human connection,
Drains the joy and sense of purpose from our lives.

It explains why people go to shopping centers
Who have no intention of shopping ...
They just need to be somewhere where other people are,
Hoping that among the hundreds of strangers passing by,
They will find one familiar friendly face.

It explains why people come home from work or school
and immediately switch on the television.
They are not interested in the program; much of time,
They do not even know what is on.
But they are desperate for the sound
Of another human voice in their lives."

Nobody can make you feel inferior without your consent: Eleanor Roosevelt

Who has confidence in himself will gain the confidence of others. Self-confidence is the first requisite to great undertakings. Too many people overvalue what they are not and undervalue what they are. One important key to success is self-confidence. An important key to self-confidence is preparation. Confidence comes not from always being right but from not fearing to be wrong. Life shrinks or expands in proportion to one's courage.

Today, there is an explosion of information

Just as a magnet picks up only objects made of iron, so also if our mind is charged with a set purpose, it picks up only those bits of information which are useful in our efforts to achieve the set purpose of our life. Soon we will have a very wide information base in our chosen field. That information base will be our wealth!

We refuse to accept political boundaries that divide the earth.

Love is a great investment. Let’s treat our friends like family and family like friends.

Let ordinary people meet by the millions across borders. Let them create a universal network of love and friendship.

One day, there will be no borders, no boundaries, no flags, and no countries and only passport will be the heart. We refuse to accept political boundaries that divide the earth.

Culture of Peace

Extending social and economic development throughout the world and eliminating nuclear weapons from military arsenals are two fundamental prerequisites to replacing the culture of war with culture of peace, and building true security for the entire world’s people.
- Douglas Roche, O.C a Canadian for peace and human security-

Chinese Proverbs in Public Speeches

A trail through the mountains, if used, becomes a path in a short time, but, if unused, becomes blocked by grass in an equally short time:
~Mencius.

Obama borrowed words from ancient Chinese philosopher Mencius to underscore the importance of resolving disagreement between the two nations through talks.

Hillary Clinton said: "When you are in a common boat, you need to cross the river peacefully together," to suggest how Washington and Beijing should work together to overcome the current economic crisis.

Touch a Child's Life

"Whoever touches the life of a child
touches the most sensitive point of a whole
which has roots in the most distant past
and climbs toward the infinite future . . .
the vital and delicate point where all can be renewed,
where all is pulsating with life . . ."
~Maria Montessori

Think them over

1. When we are working with children, we have to park our egos and political colours at the door and get to work.

2. The illiterate of 21st century will not be those who cannot read and write but those who cannot learn, unlearn and relearn.

3. He, who refreshes others, will himself be refreshed. When we are connected to others, we become better people.

Today's progress was yesterday's plan.

The road of life can only reveal itself as it is traveled; Each turn in the road reveals a surprise. Strong convictions precede great actions. We are either progressing or retrograding all the while. There is no such thing as remaining stationary in this life.

The clearer you are on what you want, The more power you will have. Love is life. We need the positive virtues of resolution, of courage, of indomitable will, Of power to do without shrinking the rough work that must always be done.

Example is leadership. A smile on the face is a sign that the heart is at home. Today's progress was yesterday's plan.

Create Your Future

The future is not a result of choices among alternative paths offered by the present, but a place that is created--created first in the mind and will, created next in activity.

The future is not some place we are going to, but one we are creating. The paths are not to be found, but made, and the activity of making them, changes both the maker and the destination. -John Schaar.

The mother's heart is the child's school room.

Mothers are the pivot on which the family spins, Mothers are the pivot on which the world spins. The mother is the most precious possessions of the nation, so precious that society advances its highest well-being when it protects the functions of the mother. A mother is not a person to lean on, but a person to make leaning unnecessary.

The use of traveling is to regulate imagination by reality - I thought of that while riding my bicycle..

The journey of life is like a man riding a bicycle. We know he got on the bicycle and started to move. We know that at some point he will stop and get off. We know that if he stops moving and does not get off he will fall off.

To keep your balance you must keep moving. Nothing compares to the simple pleasure of riding a bike. Life is like a ten speed bicycle. Most of us have gears we never use.

Joy is a net of love by which you can catch souls - Mother Teresa

We can live without religion and meditation, but we cannot survive without human affection. We are made for loving. If we don’t love, we will be like plants without water.
