Mrs. Pauline Michel, of Montreal, Quebec, is the second poet to hold this office.Active in a number of fields in the arts, Mrs. Michel will be a valuable Canadian ambassador for the written word.
Her accomplishments are many, including the translation of some of her work into English, Spanish and Chinese.
Once a secondary school, college and university teacher, Mrs. Michel, to our everlasting gratitude, is now teaching us all, through her novels, her poems, her children’s stories and her plays.
She embodies the essence of artistic endeavour and achievement.
