Ugadi Greetings
Fresh Hopes and Renewed Vigour
mark the celebrations of a New Year.
And with the onset of Spring,
one can enjoy the chirping of birds,
the early morning chills
and the blooming of colourful flowers.
Especially the fragrance of the
blossoming neem flowers
in the air announces the arrival of
the New Year, Ugadi

There is work that is work and there is play that is play; there is play that is work and work that is play. And in only one of these lies happiness.

Courage does not always roar.
Dear Children,
Thanks for your emails and phone calls.
- Courage does not always roar. Sometimes, it is the quiet voice at the end of the day saying, "I will try again tomorrow".
- To think bad thoughts is really the easiest thing in the world. If you leave your mind to itself it will spiral down into ever increasing unhappiness. To think good thoughts, however, requires effort. This is one of the things that discipline - training - is about.
With Love, Amma-Nana

Happiness is not what happens to us, but how we choose to respond to what happens.
Dear Children,
We make decisions with our head, And we make commitments with our heart. The choices we made yesterday have impacted our success today, while the choices we will make today will impact our success tomorrow. Happiness is not what happens to us, but how we choose to respond to what happens.
With Best Wishes, AMMA - NAANA

Embracing This Present Moment
1. It is only when we truly know and understand that we have a limited time on earth—and that we have no way of knowing when our time is up—that we will begin to live each day to the fullest, as if it was the only one we had.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
2. This time, like all times, is a very good one if we but know what to do with it.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
3. By taking good care of the present moment, we take good care of the future.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
4. We can only be happy now, and there will never be a time when it is not now.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
5. I like to remind my friends frequently how short life is. This is the important message of death: not a day to waste, not a day to quarrel, not a day to brood upon yourself. This is not losing the joy of life; this is gaining the joy of life.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
6. Don’t take yourself and your life so seriously, forgetting that life is meant to be a great adventure to be lived fully. When you become too serious, life loses its luster and you have a hard time being happy.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
7. Climb the mountains and get their good tidings. Nature's peace will flow into you as sunshine flows into trees. The winds will blow their own freshness into you, and the storms their energy, while cares will drop off like autumn leaves.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
8. Look at everything as though you were seeing it for the first time or the last time. Then your time on earth will be filled with glory.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
9. Don’t say you don’t have enough time. You have exactly the same number of hours per day that were given to Helen Keller, Pasteur, Michelangelo, Mother Teresa, Leonardo da Vinci, Thomas Jefferson, and Albert Einstein.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
10. Laughter is the lubricant and elixir of life. Being able to laugh at yourself and the everyday incongruities of your daily situation is the best way to quell stress. Lighten up and enjoy life!
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
11. The secret of forgiveness is not to procrastinate, but to free yourself immediately of stress by totally forgiving this instant.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
12. Birds sing after a storm, why shouldn’t we?
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
13. The secret of health for both mind and body is not to mourn for the past, not to worry about the future, not to anticipate troubles, but to live the present moment wisely and earnestly.

We are doing well
Dear all, GOOD MORNING.
I am fine here. I am writing this email from Apollo Hospitals, Hyderabad. Today doctor is expected to be here after noon only. Dr. DVSLN Sharma, another urologist is presently available here. But I decided to see Dr. Rajagopal only. So I am waiting for him. I am quite comfortable. In between I am taking Coconut water as well.
Ms. R K Lakshmi, who is the secretary of Dr. Rajagopal is friendly to me. Her date of birth is 1977. She has one year old daughter.

Some proverbs for us to read and think them over.
-A coward dies a thousand times before his death. The valiant never tastes of death but once.
-All problems become smaller if you don’t dodge them, but confront them. Touch a thistle timidly, and it pricks you; grasp it boldly, and its spines crumble.
-Being deeply loved by someone gives you strength while loving someone deeply gives you courage.
-Courage easily finds its own eloquence.
-Courage is like a muscle; it is strengthened by use.
-Courage is like love, it must have hope for nourishment.
-Courage is not the lack of fear. It is acting in spite of it.
-Courage is rightly esteemed the first of human qualities because it is the quality which guarantees all others.
-Every great work, every big accomplishment, has been brought into manifestation through holding to the vision, and often just before the big achievement, comes apparent failure and discouragement.
-Everyone has talent. What is rare is the courage to follow that talent to dark place where it leads.
-Few things are more attractive than courage, cheerfulness and optimism. But they take on an extra dimension when you realize that they are not a lucky assembly of character traits, but the result of an act of will—a deliberate attempt to tackle an unkind destiny with strength of purpose and good humor.
-Flatter me, and I may not believe you. Criticize me, and I may not like you. Ignore me, and I may not forgive you. Encourage me, and I will not forget you.
-Great occasions do not make heroes or cowards; they simply unveil them to the eyes. Silently and imperceptibly, as we wake or sleep, we grow strong or we grow weak, and at last some crisis shows us what we have become.
-If we could be heroes, if just for one day.
-If you're careful enough, nothing bad or good will ever happen to you.
-Life is a compromise of what your ego wants to do, what experience tells you to do, and what nerves let you do.
-One man with courage makes a majority.
-The greatest test of courage on the earth is to bear defeat without losing heart.

Keep Our Ideals
* Nobody grows old merely by living a number of years. We grow old by deserting our ideals.
* Waste your money and you're only out of money, but waste your time and you've lost part of your life.
