Cariwest Festival - A generous heart, kind speech, and life of service, compassion are the things which renew humanity.

This year (2009) Cariwest celebrated it's 25th Anniversary. I volunteered for this event. Cariwest brought the spirit of Caribbean Carnival to the Festival City of Edmonton, Alberta.

Along with Colourful Costume Extravaganza, we also enjoyed the sweet sounds of a steel pan, savoured the flavour of West Indian Cuisine, and 'jumped up' in the streets of Edmonton as people danced alongside the Mass band parade, with Calypso music resonating through our soul!

A generous heart, kind speech, and life of service, compassion are the things which renew humanity.

One of the most exciting aspects of Edmonton, for me, is the multicultural face of the city. Edmonton is the perfect place to grow up. Quiet neighbourhoods, an abundance of parks, culture and festivals, and the amenities of a big city combine for year-round kid-friendly fun.

Challenges weigh us down, solutions move us forward. We lose, we learn, and we move on.
