Jasper's jumping during January fest...

Two weeks of moguls, music and merriment.........

Canadians know how to make the most of a crisp winter day. In fact, they're proud of their ability to enjoy all that snow and ice have to offer.

Enjoying snow and more only begins to describe the thinking behind the town of Jasper's annual celebration of winter, called Jasper in January.

The town's normally placid streets will be festooned with ice sculptures, banners and posters, letting visitors know they've arrived just in time to take in two weeks of winter fun.

The 21st annual event begins Friday, Jan. 15 with a kickoff party at the Whistle Stop Pub and a show across the street at the Athabasca Hotel by Edmonton's Ten Second Epic. The band performs again the following day.
