Citizens share dreams of Edmonton 2040!

"The purpose of life is to live it, to taste experience to the utmost, to reach out eagerly and without fear for newer and richer experience"

Dear Children,

Cities like people need goals, and this future vision of a world-class metropolis should inspire us.

Will the business and development community share the dream? Will they embrace great urban design and architecture? Will the building managers and the owners even bother to keep their property spic & span and litter free?

And citizens spoke: They spoke their dreams for Edmonton, that it become a world -class city, a place of great design, democracy, diversity and sustainability. They spoke of Edmonton becoming even more a city of learning, a world leader in technology, health care and green energy.

Edmonton they said must also be an active, and cultural city- a city of parks and theaters, creativity and sport. Let us make Edmonton a special city to live and visit. This city is on a river is one of the special places on Earth. As a council we are really a committed. We need to think big. For too long we have thought small. Edmonton is the future. I think our time has come, said Mr. Stephen Mandel the mayor of Edmonton City.

With Love, AmmaNaana
