Thoughts on Culture

Dear Children, Good Morning. How are you ?

In this email, I would like to share some thoughts on Culture.

Have a nice day!
With Love, Amma-Naana

Culture is the widening of the mind and of the spirit. Culture is to know the best that has been said and thought in the world. Every man's ability may be strengthened or increased by culture. Failure comes only when we forget our ideals and objectives and principles. It is proof of good culture to say the greatest matters in the simplest way.

The great law of culture is: Let each become all that he was capable of being; expand, if possible to his full growth. Culture is the sum of all the forms of art, of love, and of thought, which, in the centuries, have enabled man to be less enslaved. The only worthy end of all learning, of all science, of all life, in fact, is that human beings should love one another better. Every man who has shown the world the way to beauty, to true culture, has been a rebel, without home, who has found his people everywhere. The best thing a man can do for his culture when he is rich is to endeavor to carry out those schemes which he entertained when he was poor.

If art is to nourish the roots of our culture, society must set the artist free to follow his vision wherever it takes him.
